Ok story. Kind of juvenile feeling with a predictable plot. I really wish there were more realistic portrayals of grief and parenthood in these types of books. The parents always become evil, turn to substances or turn abusive or neglectful. It’s an easy way to get them out of the way so the rest of the ridiculous plot can continue but it’s not good writing. Grieving parents don’t suddenly hate their other kids.

This was fun and interesting, enough to keep me interested. While this is fated mates, no spice was in this one. Which I actually appreciate since they are in high school. It’s not like insta lust in adult romance, though I wouldn’t categorize it as YA, definitely more NA. Rowan was adopted, but learns she’s a shifter and all the guys she’s drawn to are her mates. This story is really fast paced, so even with no spiced the characters get close quickly. I’m excited to see where this goes!
