Bonkers. An original, surreal universe with style and substance. There’s one pretty messed up love story that is a huge plot point and hard to overlook. I’m left with a lot of questions and not sure if I want the answers. It’s fun to think about.
Algorithmic and derivative cyberpunk. But... reading this book felt so similar to what reading felt like when I was 9-13 years old--I'd start believing in magic if it asked me to. Maybe this is just a hallmark of "genre fiction," with its siren call of escapism and traceable narrative succession, but I'll take a tesseract when I see one.
