sitare's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 33%

The writing was horrendous. The tension was non-existing. The therapy depiction in the book was really wrong.

Sweet Dandelion started off with a sad note. The prologue definitely sucks you in because you know someone is hurt. Heck, a lot of people might be. So walking into the first half, you see that Dandelion is struggling with what she went through. As well as what she lost. Her whole world has been flipped upside down. She lost her mother in a shooting and now her brother is her legal guardian. It also doesn't help that she's back at school so that she can graduate and go on with her life.

It's just.. not what she had planned and doesn't really know what to do next. I'd like to think that the tables turned a bit more in her favor when the school had her go to a counsellor. Mostly because it was Lachlan and that guy just sounded incredibly good looking. After they met, I had a feeling that they were going to go down the romantic route. It was pretty obvious once the tension and teasing came up to play.

As for the romance? In the beginning, it was okay but not my favorite. The whole hot/cold thing is not my jam but I had a feeling things were going to work out in the end. So when the drama came, and boy did it come, I started to think of what she was going to do next.

I think there are things that I liked and disliked about the characters throughout the book. The one thing that definitely made me happy was that Dandelion decided to travel the world and grow up a bit before making the decision to come home or go to college. I think she really needed to go out on her own because she was kind of annoying and needy. So when she decides to come back, she's more mature and sort of knows what she wants.

In the end, it was a cute and predictable ending.
