I totally get the Battlestar Galactica vibe that everybody has mentioned, but it’s still a good read and I’m going to keep going with the series.

65 percent BSG reboot, 25 percent Ender's Game, 10 percent cheesy Russian spy thriller. I didn't love it, yet I still might read the next one....

Can this be more American? So the bad guys are russians, of course, cause 600 years in the future nothing has changed. And the plot is so basic... "Nobody know how they are", but someone knows. "They left leaving no trace behind", but someone tracked them. I could complain about this book more than it took me read it.

Listened to this as an audiobook

I think I just heard the 1th draft of the pilot to "battle star galactica", and I have to say, I am not impressed!
This book in so many ways resembled the series. There were many of the same characters. Many if the same subplits. The same beginning. Almost the same story.

The narrator for the audiobook did a good job of giving each character an individual voice, but at some points rushed the story so I didn't always understand what he said.

This is the first book in a trilogy, but when reading the summary of the next two books, I see they are mainly copies of this one, so I will not be continuing on with this series

Battlestar Galactica with the serial number filed off.

I actually got a couple of hours into this audiobook before I realized I'd bailed on it a few years ago. Not sure I'll ever get through this series, the blatant rip-off of BSG really pissed me off.

Greg Tremblay does a wonderful job narrating it though.

I don't usually get into these kinds of books, but this hooked me for some reason. Such a great blend of sci-fi and military. It felt a little slow at the beginning, but when things picked up, they REALLY picked up. Exciting space battles, tragic sacrifice for the survival of man kind. SO GOOD! You should read this.

Fast paced

Enjoyable: check, Fun: check, Fast-paced: check! A story worthy: no check for me. I enjoyed the book but that’s only for fun to read. The story building was too short and light. There are too many gaps in the world-building. Like as if the author emphasizes the quantity of excitements than the quality of the story and world-building. As for the writing style, it was straight forward and simple. That made me read 3x faster because of so little on details and the cool-down period. Would I invest to read this series...not so sure.
