This was very bingeable but due to life responsibilities I couldn’t devour it as quickly as I wanted.

Because of all the hype and so so many people telling me to read this I unfortunately was a little let down with the ending.

I enjoyed the riddles and puzzles. The house seems otherworldly and fascinating. The brothers were entertaining enough but a little predictable with their dramas.

I didn’t warm up to Avery as much as I hoped I would. Her character started out so ballsy and interesting but once she entered that house she became less somehow. I really hope in the continuing books her character becomes more confident.

My least favourite trope is a love triangle and with siblings is the worst imo so this Grayson/Jameson/Avery triangle did not entertain me in the least.

I felt like there were so many options for what was going on and by whom that when it was finally revealed it was so lacklustre that disappointment was inevitable. The waters were so muddied with the previous death, the other love triangle, the eldest bro and whatever his love life is, the foundation, the aunt/uncle/mom situation…and on and on. There was just so much it was almost too much.

The good bits were that it was interesting and a page turner. I liked trying to solve the riddles and hearing about the house. I was skeptical of everyone and trusted no one which is a good reflection on the authors ability to stir that suspicion up.

Wow. Just... wow. This book was absolutely amazing. The romances, the plot twists, the mysteries, everything! I LOVE Avery so much. Like, she's definitely one of my favorite female heroines. She's fantastic. Jameson is just.. chefs kiss. I love Grayson too, but there's just something about Jameson. NASH TOO. Nash is amazing and I love him. His and Libby's banter >>>. I honestly can't wait to see how their romance progresses through the next two books. Also, Skye? I hate her. Literally so much. This bitch didn't even have a reason to try and kill Avery, like??? I'm also excited to see where the thing with Harry as Toby goes. When I read that part, I, quite literally, threw the book down and sat there in shock for a good five minutes. Overall, I give this book 5/5 stars, and I would probably read it again at some point.

it was pretty good. the ending was a little bland, but overall it was fun. romance is subplot, so there really was not anything significant. hopefully in the second book?
