+ I liked the idea behind the villain/conflict. It felt refreshing instead of going the route of “just another ghost story”. 
- A lot of the reveal just felt like info-dumping. I suppose it made sense for the story, but I wasn’t fond of how it was all explained at once. 
-The

romance with Francis at the end felt forced? I don’t feel like she liked him enough throughout the novel to justify her immediate acceptance of them having a future together. 

Overall wasn’t a huge fan of the ending.

I loved this. The descriptions were amazing. I love when I can really see what's happening. The dreams were surreal in the perfect way. I ate it up.

I wanted it to be more about sisters but it's kind of a flat hetero love story w a haunted house. Too many gross rape/SA scenes imo

i wasn’t expecting to devour this so quickly. I had a feeling it wld be great, but normally it takes more time to digest “serious”/historical books. this story is just so gripping, esp once the

hallucinations kick in, dreams and reality blend together, and you try to figure out wth is going on

. 
all the respect in the world to Moreno-Garcia for writing a good, whole story in 300 pages.

I went into this thinking this was just another Gothic novel. BOY WAS I WRONG! The twist genuinely got me and disturbed me greatly. Some of the ending felt a little out of place for me, gearing almost into the ridiculous, but I genuinely couldn’t put it down once I reached the big reveal.
