aquarium and trip and confession

i’m sooo angrryyyyyyyyyynohmygod i’m gonna explode wtf wtf wtf i. need to take a ten minute breather i had so much hope for the ending there is STEAM COMING OUT OF MY EARS RIGHT NOW

i am choking on my tongue i did NOT WANT it to end like this AND YET !!!

the first half of the series was SO GOOD but the last couple volume WIPED ME OUT. *insert they_really_had_us_in_the_first_half.gif*

i literally never write reviews but i am sO MAD RN (but still pretty good series)

Daytime Shooting Star begins with our female lead, Suzume Yosano, leaving her small town in the countryside to go to Tokyo to live with her uncle. As she begins to get settled, she gets acquainted with two guys: Mamura, the boy who sits next to her in class, and Mr. Shishio, her homeroom teacher. The series follows the love triangle Suzume gets herself wrapped up in.

At its core, Daytime Shooting Star is a story about first love. Within the story, we have a few characters who come to realize they are in love for the first time, and the series follows as each one confronts the bittersweet feelings that comes with it. The best part about the series is Suzume’s growth. She begins very naïve as she’s never experienced what its like to have feelings for someone. However, throughout the story we see Suzume face hardships, confusion, and anxiety in her romantic pursuits. By the end of the series, Suzume has a better grasp of her feelings which allows her to better communicate in her relationships.

I think a lot of people will be put off at first because Suzume’s teacher is a male lead, but I’d ask potential readers to stick with the story. Mika Yamamori handles the relationship very well. I think it is hard to go into specifics because it is technically a spoiler, but I will say that your expectations will be subverted.

One downside I felt while reading was the fact that the side characters feel a bit left out and one dimensional. I wish they were more of their own and their own side stories were more integrated into the plot. Sometimes it just felt like they were accessories even though there were stories there. But, I understand why it was done this way and it isn’t a big problem with the series.

As a whole, I really enjoyed reading this series. The ending was great!

I'm really happy with the way this ended and I'm looking forward to the bonus story! I was so nervous about what would happen in the middle, but I think the choices that were made fit the characters and the plot very well. This was cute and I liked the characters. It was a good conclusion.
funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

AH THIS SERIES. Period I loved this so much, like I can’t describe it, I binged it for like 48 hours. I love shojo manga and this one is so well written. It’s a love triangle, but not an annoying one and the characters are sooooooo good! I might actually reread it on the plane because I’m so sad there isn’t another volume for me to pick up. It’s like a comfort series and I loved that! My only complaint is she made her decision and that’s valid, we loved it. But you couldn’t give me one kiss with the first love interest? I wanted one kiss with them, one passionate kiss because they had a forbidden love and nothing??? UGH.

P.s. I was right with an earlier review, she did come back to the first love interest momentarily because he did get injured.

C'était incroyablement triste

What a good ending, I kinda want more though because I want to see them actually in love and at school now but it’s fine.

this was definitely a ride. this last volume really had me worried there for a second when it seemed like suzume would get together with shishio, and i'm grateful that didn't happen. not only do student-teacher relationships make me extremely uncomfortable but also i've been rooting for mamura ever since volume 1. my heart is filled with happines because they ended up together !! it's what they deserve, really.
