Wanted a quick shojo read and this was it. Nothing groundbreaking, slightly icky with the teacher, but glad she ended up with Mamura. I think it was a good job of conveying the emotions and feelings of a 15-16 year old girl. Still felt they glossed over her teacher too easily. I kinda liked him as a character, but he really was just a sad man who didn't have much going for him and wanted her to make him feel good. I liked his new relationship, but I can't believe she is okay with his past and didn't at least question why he had a relationship with his 15 year old student. Girl stand up. Anyway the cast was cute and I loved Yuyuka. Wish we could have gotten more of her romance!

Listen, this series took me on a roller coaster of thoughts and emotions.
I liked Mamura and Shishio both quite a lot. But I spent a lot of time rooting for Mamura even though, in my head, he was quite clearly the second male lead and therefore wouldn't get the girl. Which is pretty much par for the course when it comes to my taste in shojo manga men.
SO IMAGINE MY SURPRISE THAT IN THIS BOOK SHE TURNS DOWN SHISHIO and his confession because she's decided that Mamura was the one she belongs with because he's been her rock for forever. I was literally so happy I cried. But then I was so sad for Shishio... Because, like, he didn't do anything wrong. He wasn't bad or mean or anything like that (well, except you know, trying to get into a relationship with a minor...) But he took it well.

I DON'T REGRET GETTING A TEMPORARY READING SLUMP ON NOVELS AND DECIDING TO READ THIS MANGA SERIES. I am so emotionally invested from beginning to end! I love this. I so love this. *sniffs*
Why I gave 5 stars to this series:
1. Rad illustrations. I'm a sucker for mangas drawn beautifully.
2. EQUALLY IRRESISTIBLE MALE CHARACTERS but
3. Unexpected ending. The kind that makes you ask why after reading it 5 hours later and makes you cry happy tears and think about love and life for quite a while and gives you a painful feeling in the chest but hey, that's what I love about this. It makes you feel all those feels!
4. It inspired me to write a poem. Haha. Here.
Good job, Yamamori! I need more shoujo like this. :)

the moment Shishio became a jerk by saying that he doesn't love Suzume when it's actually obvious, I started to completely root for Mamura.3. Unexpected ending. I hate love triangles. Honestly, all early 2010 YA made me hate love triangles. But.
I really felt this one.
I like this new person for Satsuki and I like that Mamura and Yosana are still together. The way Yamamori drew character growth physically like through hair and clothes and facial expressions, that was really appreciated, and in all I think this was a really wholesome manga. I'm happy she ended up with Mamura and I'm happy that everything worked out and all the characters learned how to be honest with one another.
I will definitely look more into Yamamori's mangas because I loved her style!
(For future notice though, the writing was a bit cliche. Come on. New girl moves to a new city. Where she sits in the classroom is that classic back right hand desk by the windows. The teacher relationship is a "forbidden romance" just full of secretive dates and "we need to talk about your homework" wink wink. And Yosana's class did a maid and butler cafe for the school festival. Like how much more cliche manga can you get?
