Good book. Kinda cheesy but I liked that it took place in Saugatuck. Lots of Michigan facts.

It's a perfect summer story about second chances at love and taking chances on the life you dare to dream! Summer cottage rules are perfect!

Great beach read! Yes, the ending is quite predictable but that's ok. I quickly devoured this book.

The Summer Cottage has an incredibly heartfelt true story behind it; the author based some of the story off of his own life experiences. While it is very sweet, it was maybe just a bit too schmaltzy for me personally. If you love Hallmark movies, this one will be a home run for you.

The rare DNF.

You know the feeling when you’re on vacation for a few days and you are finally able to really let go of the stresses of real life and fully relax? If you’d like a little dose of that in your life right now - pick up The Summer Cottage.

Adie Lou grew up spending time each summer at her family’s Creaky Cottage - their lake house on Lake Michigan. Family tradition is to light sparklers when you arrive and quickly state all the Cottage rules before they can go out - including “leave your troubles at the door”, “nap often” and “ice cream is required”.

Currently, Adie Lou is an adult - she has inherited the lake house and is considering selling it. Her marriage is ending and her only child is headed to college. Instead - she decides to turn it into a bed and breakfast and share the magic of the cottage with guests.

This was a delightful read - light and fun, great for an actual vacation or just one in your imagination for a few hours. If you are a fan of Hallmark movies or the cozy small town atmosphere of Stars Hollow, I recommend checking this one out!

Thank you to Graydon House and the Harlequin Publicity Team for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review!
