This book follows Eddie Flynn getting back into court after coming out of a depressive episode. Unfortunately the circumstances are not what he imagined. This book was good but slow. The following books are more intense and better put together than the defence.

The book had a very strong start, but it fell flat. I was very interested at first but there was so much rambling/description and life story that was entirely unnecessary. It made it impossible to read more than one or two chapters at a time, let alone want to read the book.

Review:

A very fun read! Read it in two days, that's how much I enjoyed it.
Didn't like some repetitions in the story, the rest was awesome.

Review previously placed on my blog:

I have read The defence by Steve Cavanagh. This is the first book in the Eddie Flynn series. I'm reading this series for my series TBR. I also mention this one in my series vlog, which I'm making.

I finished this book in two days and I think that says a lot. This book was super good. The pace was incredible and it was action packed in every sentence and paragraph. I loved the mix of the courtroom, the maffia stuff and some inside in the life of Eddie Flynn. This mix made it also very interesting. The writing was good, but the translation lacked from time to time. The characters were very good and I think pretty well flushed out, especially the MC. The only thing that bothered me a little bit were some parts that were repeated. So therefore a 4 stars, but I highly recommend!
