this was a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy. I feel there are still some emotions un answered and the triangle between Moira and her two suitors could still be up for debate... but it was satisfying.
I was disappointed with this final book in this series.
I just think that the books were too long. I didn't like the amount of romance and wasn't a big fan of it. I was intrigued with it in the beginning by the end of the book, I really didn't care and just wanted to finish it.
I love Kelley Armstrong, but this wasn't my favourite.

Final book in the Age of Legends trilogy.
Sisters Ashyn and Moria must figure out who they are going to support in the civil struggle taking place in their country. There's also a chance to awaken a dragon which could help win the fight but could also have severe repercussions in the long run.
I love Kelley Armstrong, but I feel this trilogy was not her strongest work. Characters seemed a bit flat and difficult to relate to. And while this book dragged on a bit, it was probably my favorite of the 3.

This was a disappointing end to the series. It's greatest problem being that it took on more than it should have for a trilogy. I was expecting so much more to be resolved by the book's end. Was there supposed to be some greater significance to disturbing magical side effects of Alvar's zombie army? Were the mysterious awakening of legendary monsters the result of his magic as well? Are they going to stop now that he's dead? What were the true extent and purposes of Ashyn and Moria's powers? All these questions had been brought up throughout the series but never answered. Instead there was over 400 pages of characters traveling across a vaguely described realm. The tagline on the cover proclaimed The journey is over. It's time to fight. Except the story was mostly journey with a few skirmishes thrown in, all leading up to one final disappointing battle. Sure, the big baddie's dead and the empire is saved but did anything really change? I feel like I've read the entire series but nothing happened. The characters haven't grown. The empire isn't better off than it was originally. There was no greater lesson learned. In summary: disappointing.
I'm also bitter because I was promised dragons and all I got was a baby ice dragon that acted more like a dog for the last third of the book.

The third and final novel in the Age of Legends trilogy. In the concluding novel, the reader is redirected to the main, and original plot of this trilogy- to save their town and its children. Along the way, the twins Moria and Ashyn, the Seeker and Keeper find each other after being apart most of the series. Not only do they get to see each other again and fight a war, they also get to fall in love. Now the romantic plotlines were just a little wishy washy in the sense that it felt clumsy, and added in at the wrong times. It’s supposed to be portraying a first love and all, but it didn’t really suit this trilogy. The plots with the dragons fit right in, and that was captivating to read. For the most part characters developed slowly, if at all. It was like we only got snippets of who they are because so much was going on. Overall, this novel concluded the story very well, besides having some hiccups; it took the reader on a mystical adventure.
Maybe it's because it took me so long to read this (not really the books fault, it's been a year) but the ending to this series seemed a little lack luster. Story lines were wrapped up with a bit of a surprise ending but I felt over all a little deflated after reading this book. I still like the series as a whole but feel as if something is missing.
I was worried that the author would bring in a love triangle but thankfully that did not happen, there was actually a boy/girl friendship without romance which something you do not tend to see in YA.
I loved the main characters, Moria and Ashlyn (and was glad that Ashlyn played a bigger part in this novel) and the side ones, Tyrus, Ronan, and Gavril plus the animals. :)
The ending was okay, I liked how the relationships ended up but I wanted a bit more action or magical elements.
I recommend checking out this series for the great characters and world building.

I will probably come back to this one day, but it got so boring so fast. Conclusions, especially to series, are supposed to be exciting and worth all the build-up but in this case the series fell more and more flat as it went for me. I am not big on fantasy right nowt hough so I think when I am in the mood maybe this one will be back.
