This was a sad story in a lot of ways. This was a happy story in several other ways. The main character is socially awkward and really has nothing going for him, but he really turns himself around by the end of the story.

Mixed feelings on this one. I liked the bike road trip to get to his sister so that she can be mourned and given a memorial, but some of it felt overly long and didn’t add much to the story. Looked at the complicated issue of caring for a loved one with debilitating mental health issues.

I listened to this story on audio-book. Although it was somewhat depressing at times, I also found it quite engaging. It was read by the author, who did a great job. It was a very long recording, but fit well with my commute schedule.

I put this down 3 years ago and I am glad I picked it up again. I like the characters and their development. It was a good read.

Loved this book. Somehow, the story of personal redemption of someone who was this far gone was soothing and rewarding to me.

Interesting title, since he rode across the country on a bike, not running across it, but I get the symbolism.

I really enjoyed this book and the journey the main character took. Highly recommend!

4.5 stars. Smithy Ide was lovable. I love books with a journey and this one was beautiful.
