Silvia has one again written something gritty, thrilling and completely surprising. I never know where the story will end and I personally LOVE it! The characters are humanly flawed and 100% believable as people you may come across in day to day life. It's impressive how thorough the author is in their depiction of current events in the timeline of the settings of their novels. It's created a desire to want to look into the history of the area and possibly others as well.

I’ve never read anything by Silvia Moreno-Garcia I didn’t absolutely love, so it’s no surprise I feel head over heels into this gritty, messy, wonderful story. While the plot itself is electrifying and action packed, the characters are complex and messy and real in a way that left me thinking about them for hours after I finished the book. Start this at your own risk --you won’t be able to put it down.
