Overall I enjoyed it.

Would have been nice if Lord Blanshard didn't reveal all his evil plans in one go in the end like in old movies.

Extremely enjoyable read! Fun characters and a fun plot. I haven't read the other books in the series but didn't find that to be a hindrance, though the amount of exposition (while understandable) may have been too much in places.
