I liked reading the henna artist. It was a unique perspective which made the story engaging and interesting. The characters were interesting and complex.

I listened this an an audio book. The narrator gave an AMAZING performance that enhanced the character development. The story explored the themes of family, resilience, sacrifice, love, lose and choice. It follows Lakshmi as she runs away her abusive husband, and makes her way to Japur where she becomes the Henna artist for wealthy women, hiding her own past and using the medicinal skills she leaned from her MIL to help the women of Jaipur. When the sister she never knew existed shows up, her secrets are at risk of being exposed and threatens the life she has built for herself.
