This was such a beautiful, complicated book about what it means to have a sibling, what it looks like to recover from trauma and traumatic brain injury, and how to decide whether to go closer to your family of origin or cut them off-set boundaries. The sentences were simple and gorgeous. The structure was innovative

This book has a lot of important insight about queer relationships, abuse, and trauma. At times I found it peculiar and dramatic just for being so. I struggled with the characterization at times--not to say it's week, just that I struggled with it.

There was a line toward the end about lavender carpet that I found very meaningful--and the substantial reunion between Justin and his mother had me misty-eyed on my trolley ride home. The descriptions of vomit are certainly a motif that could be analyzed, but damn, the first half of this book made it difficult to eat.

I loved this book - I couldn't put it down. This is a story about two siblings and their
kind of fucked up
relationships with the people around them. Mirabella's storytelling is unique and absolutely compelling. And he creates complex, unpredictable characters through almost understated details.

I don't write reviews on here often, but this book is going to stick with me for a long time. Truly exceptional.

This was such a captivating read full of complex relationships and examinations of the effects of trauma. The characters weren't loveable, but they felt so real, and I loved the structure and how it combined the past and present. It was heartbreaking and beautifully written. If you love stories that make you feel deeply, I would highly recommend Brother & Sister Enter the Forest to you.
