Stěhování a vztah otce s dcerou.

I loved this duo. Ella was brave and fierce, devastated by the loss of her mother, the realisation that although she was back in touch with her father after he abandoned her and the trauma of being thrust into a family unit where she felt like an intruder. The development of her character and devastation over her injuries and unable to accept them makes her a target for bullies who can never accept anyone who is different from the “norm”. This book has a powerful message of how disability doesn’t change the essence of a person.  Moving to Brian, his total acceptance of Ella as a whole package, his patience and utter unconditional love is inspiring and heartwarming. Initially the fans hate her and she is subjected to more hate and abuse but with Brian’s support she rallies. Add in her amazing friend, her step sister best friend and the amazing development of her arch enemy stepsister into her strongest supporter makes this book one of the best triumph over adversity novel I’ve read.  Yes,it’s sappy in parts and yes, perhaps the ended was tied up too quickly. The photograph session and gallery showing would have been great to experience with her since it was pivotal in her growth and acceptance of herself; the unswerving devotion of Brian and Ella’s security in his love, might have benefited from a bit more development with celebrity uncertainties through paparazzi photos, but I loved it anyway. I will definitely be looking to read more books from this author.

I enjoyed this book very much, even though it was SUPER CHEESY. It took me a while to get into the story, especially because I was a bit annoyed by Ella at the beginning, but later on her behaviour was explained in a very believable way and it turned out to be the pageturner I'd expected it to be. 3.5 stars!
