I have read so many terrible books in a row that I was ready for another one. Yet I was turned around, and enjoyed this book in spite of my inertia. The writing was surprisingly good and insightful at times, in between descriptions and battles.
My favorite character was by far the mysterious non-human Willow who was described in such vivid detail I was both afraid of and in awe of her. Every time she spoke I felt myself leaning in to the story. I can only hope that she returns for the next adventure.
