This was a really enjoyable book! Lots of twists and turns! Will definitely be reading book 2
I loved this! I'm always up for a good quest!
I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed every second of this book. The fight scenes, the brutal environment, you feel it all. There’s some wicked twists which had me gaping. It probably has flaws, but I refused to see them, I loved it and recommend it to any adventure lover, or fan of Game of Thrones.
Read it.

This book is boring.
I picked this up at the recommendation of a booktoker, and while slogging through the unwieldy dialogue and ham-fisted attempts at foreshadowing, I spent time musing on the economics of booktok. As creators bound to a content cycle, anyone trying to make a name for themselves on booktok must regularly review books which take a significant time investment to read. People are more likely to engage with content promoting a book than one saying it’s bad (unless Colleen Hoover is involved), because there’s something to be gained by the viewer looking for recommendations. As a result, upon taking the time to read a book which is hard to actively hate but not deserving of enthusiasm, the lowly booktoker is forced to choose between making a video which will not perform, and recommending a book that doesn’t deserve it. I’ve learned my lesson, and will be more wary of such recommendations in the future.
