What is there to say that I haven't already?
Dramatic scenes feel hilarious. Milla and Frosty are getting naked when Frosty walks out to see his ghost ex. The story is forgettable.

Also, Milla is let off too easy in my estimation for this setting, where life and death are pretty reliant on not getting betrayed.

Kat's death still feels wrong. The author's explanation makes it worse. The second book literally ended on the note 'we might even save Kat!'. Why? Faith heals all, right?

On that note, this series never critically examines its view/relationship with religion. It never seems aware of it, the religion is just... there, I guess, but the constant 'light is good, chases away illusions, etc, etc' exhausts me for the same reason Erriond did in the Malloreon (book 2 and on). You need to be aware of your religion's influence in your stories. Readers who are raised in/believe in the religion won't likely care or notice, but others will. I'm Jewish, I was raised in a different paradigm. I notice this kind of thing.

I finally finished the series! I was surprised that this book took a different point of view through Frosty and Camilla instead of Cole and Ali. I really hated Camilla in the last book because of what happened to Kat but then I pitied because of why she did what she did. I pitied her even more in this book because of how she was treated by Cole's and River's crew and also because of her possible fate in Ali's vision. I was really happy that the series ended in a happy ending though.

I went back and forth on giving this book 3 or 4 stars. I enjoyed the story a lot. But i had two issues with it. One rather large one and one that irritated me probably more than it should have. the smaller one that the basically changed Mackenzie's name to Love. Yes, I'm aware that that is her last name. But in none of the last three books did they call her Love. Now all of a sudden it was just Love. No explanation no joke it was just like they didn't want to add the extra letters to her name.

The second bigger one. How did Milla get her memories back?? There was just one line that says it's possible. But no explanation. They even explained that Rebecca got her memories back because her minions found her and helped her remember. But no one was talking to Milla so how did she get her memories back. This bothered me the whole book.

Otherwise, I loved this book i enjoyed Milla and Frosty's back stories. I enjoyed watching them fall in love. I loved hearing about the Court. Honestly, I wish we had a whole series about them making decisions up above and how it works out down here. I liked hearing about all the future kids and I would like to see what happens with that. It was almost written in a way where Gena could pull this series back up if she wanted or a spin off of it. I would read it.

Of the four novels in this series, this one was the closest to the Lords of the Underworld in format. I actually really liked the POV from both Milla and Frosty. I know it's a YA novel, but I was hoping for something a little hotter from them. Oh well, it was still good. A nice, non-whiny redemption story.

I love the series overall, but to be honest I was a little disappointed in the final book. And maybe that’s because I grew so used to being in Ali’s point of view that I really missed it. I love the series and this book is good, don’t get me wrong. It ends the series perfectly and I’m so happy about the ending (especially after the ending of the third book), but I missed more Ali action. Frosty and Milla’s point of view though was really neat to experience.
