Meet Mack and Brandon
I love Jon and Donovan from Jon's mysteries so meeting Brandon, Donovan's brother in this Snow Globe Christmas book was a must from me. The characters and their connection is instantaneous I very much look forward to these four working together again in either the spin-off Mack's marvellous manifestations or Jon's mysteries. Loved it.

I've had variable luck with this author/series, but I needed something short yesterday and was curious about the spin-off. Cute, more Jon/Donovan than I wanted because I've been annoyed with them from the other series, but I do really find this world interesting and it was fun to learn more about mediums.
OMG I love the Havili family :D These gentle giants are just such wonderfully good men, and I loved getting Brandon's story. He and Mack were just adorable, sweet, flirty fun together, and I completely loved reading this story.
I also loved getting more of Jon and Donovan, seeing how solid they are together. And I loved Donovan and Brandon together giving each other crap and all the teasing. Such brothers!
Can't wait for more with these two, I just love this series. So fun, creative, and sweet!

I am so glad we got some Brandon! They talked about him a bit in the other series and I just kept waiting for his character to pop up. Again, love these books, the characters are so enjoyable.

Did Brandon intend on gifting Jon a haunted snowglobe? No. Did he do it anyway? Yes. Did Donovan freak out? Also yes. And it was all extremely entertaining. But of course, this doesn't solve the problem of getting the ghost out of the snowglobe. But what does is calling the FBI and requesting the assistance of their paranormal activity division. Which leads our ragtag team from Nashville right to Mack Lafayette, a medium in training with the FBI. Which works out well in Brandon's favour, as he's an anchor in training with the FBI himself.
Brandon and Mack meeting is just as explosive as when Jon met Donovan. The chemistry was instantaneous , but it was also more than that. It was Brandon being honest with himself, and coming to terms with his bisexuality. And it was Mack being honest about the struggles he's faced not only as a medium, but as a gay man in the Louisiana bayou. They were quick to have open and honest discussions, but as Jon learned, once you have the undivided attention of a Havili, there is very little that will take that attention away.
While the ghost hunting in this particular story was rather low stakes, it was a really great introduction to this series. I've been emotionally invested in Jon and Donavan's adventures from the beginning, and now I'm really looking forward to getting to know Brandon and Mack better through their adventures. I'm just as emotionally invested in them, and I'm really looking forward to this series!

Okay, what is with these Havili brothers? Why are they so damn adorable? I absolutely loved this book and I'm so looking forward to watching Brandon go all teddy-bear with Mack.
Great start to the spinoff series, centering on Brandon Havili, Donovan's younger brother. Mack is a great character, a medium as opposed to Jon's psychic abilities. I look forward to seeing how a medium can operate and how Brandon will be the anchor Mack needs.
Mack and Brandon are just so cute together. I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops, too.
