Well this was adorable! This was a contemporary with 2 FBI probies, but in a world where psychics, while not everyone believes, are a known thing. Mediums can speak to the dead and help them cross over. And Brandon is about a psychically dull as they come. He does, however, have a bit of an obsession with ghosts, and has decided to make the move to working with the paranormal department of the FBI. His previous SWAT team didn't take it universally well when he drunkenly confessed that he might not be as straight as he thought.
And then he meets Mack, exactly the second man he has ever been attracted to, who is also a medium, who is also looking for an anchor to be his partner once he finished his medium training, and it's basically meant to be. Especially, when they both find each other to be the hottest thing since toast.
Plus, for fun, Brandon's Tongan and built like a brick house, Mack is cajun and a soft, cushy boi, and they are just the cutest thing.
It's super short, and I would have liked more to the story, but I enjoyed it.

It was so good to catch up with Jon and Donovan and get to know Brandon better. I'm so happy he found an anchor so easily and I hope for more stories with them all soon!

Don't get me wrong, I still loved this book. Took me less than 2 hours to finish, but I think since it is so short we didn't get a lot of build up with the relationship since they only knew each other for 2 days and then they decided to go in a relationship.
I think that if it was better spaced out time wise I would have enjoyed it a lot more.
I still will be continuing to their second book.

I’m a huge fan of the Jon Mysteries and so I’m excited to see it branching out. We’ve had a little bit of info on Brandon previously so I was excited to get to know more about him.
This book seems to serve as a prologue for what we are going to see from a Mack/Brandon pairing. It’s a nice introduction and gives us a little background and a nice start on the character development. There are some unique aspects to each of these characters which it will be fun to observe and will most likely allow for some future story elements.
Plus the inclusion of Jon and Donovan gave us some more time with these great characters. I’m really enjoying this universe and looking forward to more of it.

Really enjoyed the humour and fun that is evident in all AJ Sherwood's books. Brandon and Mack are fun characters and I'd love it if there was a continuation to their story.
