I loved the book and the plot/idea of it I’m always a fan of vampires and supernatural
The book gave a whole TVD mixed with Twilight vibes kinda similar

But I didn’t like the writing fully, it wasn’t my style and Lauren Jackson explained the feelings and everything in too much detail

Also I was also confused how Hunter and Raya pretty much just started making out on their first encounter
Why did y’all just meet and Raya nearly died and they just started kissing like it doesn’t make sense it seemed a little rushed

As well as with Theo’s little side story it was unnecessary since it was mentioned at the start and at the end but that was it because Raya and Hunter had their own problems so Theo’s kidnapping just didn’t make sense

I did really enjoy the book cause I love these supernatural romance tropes but it wouldn’t be one of my favs that I would recommend

I mean like come on Alex dying… so uncalled for honestly he was so cute always looking out for Raya they had the cutest relationship

New peeve. Reading a book and only finding out half way through that the book is set in Australia. It's a vampire book and somehow it is always gloomy and raining on the east coast. The author is Australian as well so that confuses me. I am also on the east coast of Australia.
They keep travelling but don't actually say where and then they drive to one town in a certain car, then a few moves later go out for dinner in the car that was left behind at the second location.

One of my vent comments to a friend was:
"It was on my mums bucket list to come here" WHERE THE F*#K IS HERE!

4.5 stars - this book exceeded all my expectations. It gave me a True Blood / Twilight feel and I devoured it. It’s so satisfying to read such a great book from an Australian author. Looking forward to reading the sequel.
adventurous challenging medium-paced

The writing style is not to my preference. It felt hard to get through personally but I was interested in the plot material.

DNF @ 81%.
I’m sorry, I really tried.. I can’t make it through the last two hours or I will 100% end up in a slump 🫣

For some reason I thought this was an enemies to lovers sort of book but it really wasn’t lol a bit too insta lovey for me but might be great for someone who loves to pair paranormal with romance without other fantasy elements

I just couldn’t get into the book. Cool concept and great ideas, but it felt a bit insta lovey and that’s just not my sorta thing.
