Interesting concept but felt like misleading blurb - not psychological horror, instead gore horror which is not obvious until you reach the first description of it. Noticed a few continuity errors but was fast paced as most action scenes were variations on graphic attacks and gore descriptions. Characters were not very likeable, female main character felt especially 2D despite having a lot of interesting potential. A lot of mentions of racial slurs and xenophobia. Definitely someones cup of tea if you like more gory horror as is a very unique and shocking concept with creative horror scenes but just definitely not for me.

This book has me clutching at my legs in pain at parts (iykyk) and just gagging at others. The end was utter chaos and bloodshed, but I mainly enjoyed the horribly graphic deaths that happened in the beginning with the individuals. And that final chapter had me laughing out loud cause no shit that was going to happen lol

Kicking off with a horrific suicide, followed by what may be described as mass schizophrenic breaks and this story sucks you in! While the main premise is fascinating and holds you tight (hopefully not too tight), it drifts into a world of high fantasy. While it may work for others this drift was a little too ridiculous for me. It ends back where it started BUT for about 100 pages you are left wondering how we got so far off track. I wish it hadn't turned so harshly as the story could have easily carried on with the original premise and still had the same basic occurrences. Overall not terrible but not his best work either.
