Most of the stories were okay (helped a lot by the fact I was listening to the audiobook while doing household chores and not reading it myself). Can't give it higher than 2 stars because of how much I was cringing at the anti-asian slurs in the first story.

I didn’t realise this was a collection of all Hastings stories before starting and was delighted to listen to the poor man get bullied by his friend. The third story even had some snippets about renting in London in the 1920s - nice to know it’s always been considered hell!

Compared to Christie’s longer stories these are a little formulaic - Poirot meets worried person, fact finds, something dramatic happens, then quiet reveal. The redeeming feature (other than Christie being able to come up with satisfyingly complex murders) is that Poirot is at his most gloriously arrogant and acidic in all of them.

The audiobook performance by Suchet was a delight - his accents are amazing and his normal voice so different from Poirot’s that it makes the narration stand out even more. If you can find it, it’s well worth a listen.

A very entertaining read. Agatha Christie continues to amaze me with her words and her mysteries.

This is my first short story collection by Agatha Christie and I thought they were very clever and intriguing. Despite their length I think they are still able to give just enough information for you to investigate yourself without also giving it away. A very enjoyable read.

Short mysteries
That too written by Christie
And
Which includes Papa Poirot
Is a must read for any Christie fan.
.
I won't say it's a best
Yet I was only able to guess the end in one or two stories.
Hence is definitely good collection of short mysteries.
.
These stories are very small like 15-20min stories each.
Some of these are really brilliant like unexpected end.
And others are also something which is not easy to guess.
.
I will suggest this to the beginners in Mysteries or beginners of Christie.
And ofcourse a Christie fan should definitely read it.
.
And also for those who think they are as smart as Poirot and make good use of their grey cells 😂
They should really read it and see that they are as smart as Poirot or not.
.
Overall I enjoyed reading them.
Other Mysteries will seem too long now
With detailing 😂
.
