I LOVE IT. it is an amazing book. i would say the pace is quite fast for a classic and the character development is absolutely incredible

i was always so curious about this book and it didn't disappoint, honestly. i'm glad i finally read it!! i loved it!! it has made me insane and i have a lot of feelings about it though. i wrote an entire essay on how predatory basil and lord henry are with dorian for a class before i even got past the first couple chapters and i would write about it for the rest of my life if i could. i hate those guys and i need to study them under a microscope or so help me god. this book has so much tension and obsession and it is awful in the best way because that's entirely what makes that trio so sickening. i see now why people always talk about this book. i understand both sides of why people hate or love it, though, as it shows its age with the misogyny (oh my god the misogyny) racism and antisemitism. it got grating. fuck lord henry. but. slowly putting all these classics in my belt!! i will think about this book forever.

I've heard about this book so much that I had to read it just because I was tired of it. Needless to say, I so glad I finally did. Oscar wilde was such a great writer and the mf knew it, nonwonder he was so full of himself. Amazing read, will read again.
