Vampire story with lots of biting!

Interesting world building, but not very satisfying as a romance. There were hints of reverse harem as the high status vampires in this world are known to share their "blood virgin". In the scenes with Ivan, Trevor and Trace, it felt like the author was creating reverse harem relationships, but then didn't follow through. This made it harder for me to buy into the romance between Juliet and Darius, and less accepting of the way he treated her. Based on this first installment, I am not at all sure that I will be reading the next books in this series.

This is a darker vampire story. It does include romance, but the politics of the world are also very present and a large part of the plot. Highly recommend!

This was fast paced and fun, if you like the whole vampire feedings trope and the whole dominant and submissive thing you’ll like this book. I enjoyed it, I think the plot was ok, and i easily devoured the book pretty quickly, so pretty good if you want a quick read. I also love the mmc’s relationship with his friends, it was sweet to see them banter. Also I had a lot of fun with the fmc tuning possessive after being so submissive.
