I am reading this series completely out of order, by accident for the most part thanks to the library and randomly picking up Immortal Nights a few months ago. About a Vampire is the 6th book I've read of the Argeneau series and I quite enjoyed it. The more characters I get introduced to the more I want to know what they are up to and in turn hoping to see pervious characters.

This is really quite clever of the author since it has me invested in moving on to the next book I can find. I like that I don't have to read in order although I do wonder what I would think of characters like Dante and Christian had I not started completely backwards with their books, I knew what was coming for them!

This is my first run at a romantic series and I originally thought the story (and genre) were a bit silly but I really enjoy the Argeneau series now. It's the perfect fun summer vacation read and the fact that I have about another 20 books to go since I'm REALLY late to the party means I've got a lot more fun reading to do since I don't seem to be getting tired of them even though I've read the last 6 back to back. They are always entertaining and each book is different enough to keep you going since each character and story are well defined and unique unto themselves.

Good book

Bricker was a character that I had come to like in other books in this series and I was looking forward to learning his story. I was disappointed.
emotional funny lighthearted mysterious relaxing

Sometimes they were just pure mean to him, Justin Bricker regards himself as a bit of a ladies man and he finds himself stumped by his potential life mate where she's difficult to work with and because he can't read her mind he is reliant on his friends to help, who are quietly wreaking revenge on him. His case isn't helped by the fact that she's married.
Holly is confused, she's loyal to her husband but this man is attractive, this new life as a vampire is complicated.
Not bad but really most of the conflict is caused by his friends being mean.

Liked it more than I thought I would when I saw that Holly was already married prior to meeting Bricker. I should have had faith in Lynsay Sands, but I was skeptical instead. :P

Enjoyed reading Bricker's story. With as much grief he gave everyone else it was nice to see him experience what they did.

I was on a school trip to London yesterday so I treated myself to Justin Bricker. He has long been a favourite of mine in the Argeneau series and his sweetly cocky perspective did not disappoint. Holly was also quite a ballsy character without being violent or sociopathic, which I thought made a nice change from some of the books I have been reading lately. There were several moments in this book that I laughed out loud or groaned or sat with a hand over my eyes too scared to turn the page. Anders and Decker were so mean to jeopardise poor Justin's chances, and he was so naive to trust them. And when it was revealed that Lucien had pulled the wool over Justin's eyes too! I couldn't stop laughing because it was completely unexpected. The only downside is that I haven't read anything in this series for a good year or two, so a lot of the characters and plot was unfamiliar to me. Lucian and Bricker were familiar enough but my memory was a bit sketchy around Gia, Anders, Decker and the yummy Italian twins. Perhaps I need to take some time away from my current reading list and reread the twenty three Argeaneau novels to tweak my memory?
