Justin finally got his book

This saddens me. Justin Bricker is one of my favorite characters and I could not wait to read his story. Unfortunately, I did not care for this story. Gia, the twins and Bricker's parents are the most enjoyable part of the story. Bricker deserved a better love story. I was happy that Gia found her life mate.

This one was a little more interesting than some of the others in the series. It was a nice change.

If this is what happens when you run with scissors in a graveyard at night, I'm getting my scissors and Mapquesting the cemetery. As Holly is running, with scissors in a graveyard at night, she falls and stabs herself (your mother warned you right). Justin had tried to control her to keep her from running and when he discovers he can't read or control Holly he turns her realizing she might be his life mate. Only one problem...she's already married.

Sometimes they were just pure mean to him, Justin Bricker regards himself as a bit of a ladies man and he finds himself stumped by his potential life mate where she's difficult to work with and because he can't read her mind he is reliant on his friends to help, who are quietly wreaking revenge on him. His case isn't helped by the fact that she's married.
Holly is confused, she's loyal to her husband but this man is attractive, this new life as a vampire is complicated.
Not bad but really most of the conflict is caused by his friends being mean.

I have very mixed feelings on this book. While it is well written as always by Lynsay I have an issue with the story itself. I have always enjoyed Justin Bricker and was so happy he was getting his story told. I was okay with his mate being a mortal who was married and wanted to remain faithful. My issue came with the other immortals and how cruel some were. I understand wanting payback for his teasing but they took it to the extreme and Holly was also a victim in that regard. So it lost some of its interest. My other issue was that was all there was to the story. It seemed one dimensional without anything else going on. I still look forward to more Argeneau books and still give this a 4 even though for me it fell flat.
