Admittedly, I’m not at all well-versed with the sci-fi genre, but I don’t think any amount of prior knowledge could prepare someone for the experience of reading this book.
The closest comparison I could make would actually be a children’s book series I was just a little obsessed with when I was younger - ‘You’re A Bad Man, Mr Gum!’ by Andy Stanton. ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy’ contains the same insane narrative jumps, the same nonsense humour with a no-nonsense deadpan delivery, and the same calibre of quirky characters.

This was a reread and what a joy to be back in this world.
The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy is a sci-fi book. It is placed in outer space with aliens and other non-existing creatures. It includes the following characters, Arthur, a human (who was saved from the destruction of the earth) Zaphod Beeblebrox (who became the president of the galaxy to be able to steal a ship and discover new planets) Ford Perfect (Arthurs friend who is Zaphod's far cousin) and many other characters. Zaphod is a two headed, four armed creature from a planet called Betelgeuse. These characters explore space in their stolen ship to find something (something they don't know themselves) planets, or new creatures. Ford Perfect wants to update his hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
