To be very honest,
I would have given this book two stars, because I didn't like it at all. The story was incoherent. I struggled with following the story without getting distracted.
I kept reading, I don't really know why but I most defintely DON'T regret it.
The last quarter or so is an explanation with makes you understand a lot of what this book is really about. It has been written to relate for any kind of ages. Children could easily understand the story and it would be a great activity to read with your child/sibling/cousin or so.
I didnt read any of Boyne's work but I am very curious to read more of him especially another genre of a more adult reading.
3 out if 5 stars!

A beautiful version of a fairy tale with a twist. The writing and illustrations are beautiful as the tale deals with topics such a childhood, ageing and grief from the perspectives of an elderly man and a young boy. A book for adults and children to enjoy.

Heel mooi boek.
O MY I loved every word in this book. every moment was a surprise and I read it within 2 days. I cried and laughed at the story and it made me hope for adventure again! At first, I thought Noah had a bad family but then I slowly realized the sadness that he carried and released a great sigh of relief when he came back home not realizing that I had been holding it. I do recommend it for anyone looking for a small adventure without leaving the comfort of their home.
Mir hat einfach was gefehlt.
