This book is basically the same as season one of the show. Having seen it a couple of times, reding the book was a bit boring to me...

I was afraid of being disappointed when I bought the book, but now that I finished it I know that it was a good purchase. For those who really like the show and when they just can't see it this book is a great alternative to the first season of Ouat.
We must have in consideration that this book is centered on the view of Emma and Mary Margaret/ Snow White and that's why storys like Jiminy's, Red's, Grumpy's and among others are not in the book. Although I would prefer that they were, but it was interesting knowing exactly what Emma and Mary Margaret were feeling. Since the book couldn't have all the stories I'd like that, at least, the author could've included Regina's point of view, it would be completely different because she's a person full of hate and anger, the complete opposite of Mary Margaret/ Snow White, but overall it was a great book, I loved it.

Reawakened is basically a summary of season one of Once Upon a Time, and reading and remembering what happened in season one was a joy and a delight to read. You read about Regina being all sneaky and trying to keep Emma away from Henry, being a Karen and the Mayor the whole time you’re reading it, Mr. Gold being sneaky, Henry doing “Operation Cobra” to get Emma to believe the stories...like you see the growth in Emma in the book and the show and finding out where she came from and how she became an orphan till what she is today.
I have to say, the more I read this book, the more I felt like Regina was acting like a Karen when it came to Henry, and it completely went over my head, but honestly, as I read it, the more I just said it: Regina was acting like a damn Karen whenever Emma was around Henry. But I can see how fiercely protective Regina and Emma was to Henry and how the both of them want whats right for Henry.
And Mary Margaret and David Nolan...oooof their relationship in the beginning. Oof, oof, oof. It was almost painful to read, but I’m glad that I saw how that relationship turned out, through them getting their memories back and her calling out “My prince!” when she saw him after thinking of her name made me smile, because honestly, I thought they weren’t gonna get together, but I’m glad they did at the end.
Four out of five stars for me, truly enjoyed this book.

Before spying this at the library I had no idea that one of my favourite TV series even had accompanying books. I’ve been a fan of Once Upon A Time since discovering it on Amazon Instant during my last year of university, so I borrowed this from the library without reading the blurb. Would I have still borrowed this if I had?
In all honesty I probably would have because I love these characters, I love both Fairy Tale Land and Storybrooke and most of all I love how the show twists these well-known fairytales. Yet by reading the blurb I would realised that Reawakened isn’t an expansive of the Once Upon A Time universe. Instead its a written version of Season One.
“Look, dude. The cocoa is a nice gesture. And it’s impressive that you were able to guess that I like cinnamon on my chocolate - not many people do - but i’m not here to flirt.”
Although most of the characters backstories have been condensed, and are mainly told to Emma and the reader through Henry, the main plot is identical...

Maybe it's because I know the show, but I really missed some characters and their storylines. There was absolutely nothing about Belle and Rumple - if I don't count the little mention. Or Ruby. Or Regina!!!
It's like the whole book is about Snow, Charming and Emma. I mean, I know it's supposed to be like this, but...
And if you don't know the show you don't have to read it. For those, who know it it's like a tiny bonus.

I am unsure how to review this book as essentially I would be reviewing the first few episodes of once upon a time. I thought this might be a spin of story with untold stories from the show and it was not what I expected. I really enjoyed reading the novel as I am so in love with the show it was nice to look at it from a different media platform. Other than that I don‰ЫЄt think I am sure how to review the book. If you love once upon a time, then you‰ЫЄre going to enjoy reading it too! The writing is good quality for a TV adaptation of a book so I would say you could enjoy reading this, ddefinitely.
I am a huge fan of the show... like slightly obsessed with it. So I was really interested to experience it in a new format. This book is essentially season 1. Each chapter is a new episode, and it events flips between the Enchanted Forest and Storybrooke.
The thing is, after experiencing the show this book was just kind of a letdown. You really only see the perspectives of Emma and MM (Snow) so you miss a lot of details and background that the show provides. The show does such a great job of exploring each character's story that this book fell a bit flat. I'm glad I read it, but I will be sticking to the show in the future. Adam & Eddie are kings.
HOWEVER, my cousin picked up this book because she hasn't had a chance to watch the show yet & I keep raving about it. She really enjoyed the book, and she said that it made her want to watch the show (because trusting my impeccable taste in shows isn't enough for her). So the book must have been pretty good.

idk what to say. this world is my home. these characters are my family. that’s all. bye
I fricking love Once Upon a Time. That show makes me feel all the feels. This book I have problems with. I've read fanfiction that's better written (and waay better edited - I highlighted no less than twelve mistakes). Also, they left out several episodes (the Hansel and Gretel story - The Still Small Voice, the Fruit of the Posionous Tree, etc). Also, limiting the narrative perspectives to just Emma and Mary Margaret (and Grumpy for a brief time) really took away from the complexity of the Once universe. Plus there was little to no Mr. Gold, who, as the fangirls know, is the best character. The writing is...not good. Very "tell tell tell, never show, if you wanted show, watch the actual show!" type of writing. But still, for a "I'm bored and I need something quick and enjoyable to read that isn't a thousand pages of A Song of Ice and Fire" kind of day. Now I must re-watch season 1 of Once and feel all the feels.
