Endlessly (pun intended) creative and intriguing in both the writing and artwork. Can't wait to read the rest!

I still consider myself a bit of a newbie when it comes to graphic novels, but this book...this book was excellent! The character of Sandman was incredible, and the inclusion of a wide array of characters I knew/knew of made it even better.

The storyline goes from dark, to surreal, to comedic, to tragic, and then loops around all over again. I LOVED the artwork for the beginning of each chapter, and the art in general just really worked for the plot. Cannot wait to read the rest of these.

The first chapters breath [a:Neil Gaiman|1221698|Neil Gaiman|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1234150163p2/1221698.jpg] all over. It smelled like [b:American Gods|30165203|American Gods (American Gods, #1)|Neil Gaiman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1462924585l/30165203._SY75_.jpg|1970226] , it tasted like [b:Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch|12067|Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch|Terry Pratchett|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1615552073l/12067._SY75_.jpg|4110990]; it was great! I thought 'this is going to be 4 or 5 stars'. But the style quickly changed and got away from the 'DEATH' ([b:Mort|386372|Mort (Discworld, #4; Death, #1)|Terry Pratchett|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388181166l/386372._SY75_.jpg|1857065] (Discworld)) and Deathly Hallows ([b:Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows|136251|Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)|J.K. Rowling|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1474171184l/136251._SY75_.jpg|2963218]) atmosphere and became more comic book like and short stories style, only held together by a thin thread. Some stories were ok-ish, most stories were just uninteresting. They tried to raise a lot of suspense, some scenes tried to be funny, but failed and left an empty story with no character development. Teaches me not to trust on Goodreads ratings; even if they're high it doesn't mean you get a reasonable book. Rated this 2 star, because I reserve 1 star for books that are so bad that I can't even finish them. Stupid GR rating system says the book is 'ok' and only 1 star means 'I did not like it'.
