This is different from what I usually gravitate towards. I enjoyed this book significantly more in the later half. It was a struggle for me to get into but once our protagonist interacts more with the estate’s established characters and once the major event was revealed I was more hooked. The writing is very beautiful but sometimes a bit much for me to care about with all the descriptions. I am very excited to read other works by Du Maurier.
