At first I was looking forward to reading this book, but ended up finding it boring. Although, I mainly think that this has to do with the mindset I had before starting this book. So, if you plan on reading this just realize that it isn’t for amusement if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s more of a political allegory by Swift.

This book is hilarious with (apparently) political undertones. Being the less-than-savvy politic, that stuff didn't even occur to me until after I read the book and I read up on it. But I still enjoyed it even if my naive mind didn't get it all. The places that Gulliver visits are astonishing and puzzling... a race of very tiny people, a race of very large people, and an island where horses are rulers and humans the servants. He visits some place in between, but these are the most memorable and interesting.
I learned that I cannot follow political satire. To fully appriciate have some kind of 16th - 18th century British history on the back burner. First 200 pages were great, last 70 a struggle.
