DNF - maybe this book was not meant for middle aged people? I rarely drop a book partway through (I'm not a quitter lol) but my life is just too short to spend any more time reading this. I have no idea who the two authors are. I find the way it is written from two points of view very distracting and honestly I don't care about these two ladies enough to read any more.

I listened to this book on audio and enjoyed hearing the authors articulate their thoughts about friendship. In particular I liked all the data that they pulled in about friendship throughout history and it’s effect on health. It was nice that they had solid research behind their ideas rather than just a tale of what works for them. I appreciated the mindset of prioritizing friends in the same way we do a spouse or a family member.

I know lots of other people really enjoyed this book. But, it wasn’t my thing.

I liked this book a lot. As a fan of the podcast, the stories and voices were familiar and made me feel connected to the story, but there are also a lot of good lessons for those in transitory periods of their lives, or those experiencing strains in friendships during the pandemic. Good read for young women who are looking to build and foster community in a new city.
