The book is not as good as the first
Because it’s soo many pages about reminiscing that Killian is a gangster and I got bored
But it’s alright though

The banter and dialogue here were really good but I just didn't understand why they fell for each other.

So she robbed one of his warehouses and he realized she wasn't like other girls and that he must have her??

The premise is a mafia story but it's there for the aesthetic like it's not doing anything to add to the story. It feels so cartoonish and unnecessary, for someone who is the king of criminals he is so tame.

Like some of the scenes are so cute ( the arc where they go to this other town and like date for two weeks was my favorite) the story was cool but the mafia aspect was slapped on for no reason the story would've survived without it.

So I've been waiting impatiently for a book about Killian Black since we met him in Dangerous Beauty. He's multi-faceted. We have seen his dangerous, brutal side, his heroic sarcastic mysterious side, and his wise-cracking friendly side. That only lit up all the fangirls and had them raving at J.T. to give us a book about Killian. All that greatness rolled into a ball demanded a story of his own, and holy smokes J.T. delivered!

But before we got Killian's story, we had to have our stage set. We all got to get all swoony over Killian's twin brother Liam, head of the Irish mafia in Boston. That story in Beautifully Cruel was pure Geissinger greatness with humor, steam, and an emotionally moving love story. At the end of Beautifully Cruel, we knew the stage was set for Killian's story--finally.

What kind of heroine would be enough for Killian? We knew from his interactions with Eva from the Dangerous Beauty series she would have to be strong, sassy, smart, and stubborn. Jules nails it. From page one, I laughed at her and her two friends' antics and their self-proclaimed mission in life. I am not going to give that away as you need to read the epicness on your own. (Uhhh JT? We need books about those two and Declan now)

Notice in my list of the Killians we have encountered above, I never mentioned romantic. Holy frijoles, this guy is quoting Shakespeare at our girl early on. Not to mention all the other over the top wooing he does through the book. And he does it all while remaining the uber alpha he is. Dang, we knew Killian was going to be good, but he's so much more. And Jules is his perfect match. As Killian pursues Jules with the same single-mindedness, we have witnessed him focusing on other projects we get to reap the story's beauty.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. J.T. Geissinger is one of my one-click authors. I don't even have to read her blurbs; I will buy her books sight unseen. Her ability to weave stories with funny banter, romance, steam, and perhaps a dash of suspense makes her, in my opinion, one of the best indie authors out there today. You can read this book as a standalone, but to get the full Killian effect, I would suggest doing yourself a favor and going back and reading the Dangerous Beauty series, then Beautifully Cruel before reading Cruel Paradise. You can thank me later.

Better than the first

I loved Liam but OMG Killian. This was a great read basically picking up where the first left off so do yourself a favour and read it first. Yes they are 2 different romances L & T in the first and K & J- but you’ll enjoy this one so much more if you know the first story. I’m not one for recaps or spoilers, just want to say that I devoured this book in a day it was so good and I had to see how it played out. You can feel how torn Juliet is but I love that she’s as strong as she is and the sidekicks Fin & Max almost steal the show. The girl banter between the 3 is as good as the the

“Aye. What’s really gonna make you tear your hair out later on is remembering how lustily you kissed me back.” I flatten my hands over his chest and shove, pushing him away far enough to jerk out of his arms. I stand several feet away, my hand cupped over my mouth, unable to look at him. He says, “For the record, I fucking loved it, too.” I spin around and slap his face.’

my favorite part reading this author’s books is that the hero gets slapped in almost every book after the first kiss. wicked beautiful, wicked sexy, cruel paradise, ache for you… yes, i’m counting them cus i love those scenes.
