Cruel Paradise is the second book of the series, and after reading book one I wasn’t sure there was going to be a second, since it was portrayed as being a “stand a lone” but there was such a teaser for the brother of the hero of book one, and I was thrilled when the author reached out and let me know there was a BOOK TWO and let me tell you all…this book was magic. Just like book one was. I think I might have enjoyed book one just slightly a bit more, but Cruel Paradise was a solid story that I fell head over heels in love with to be honest. It was spectacular in every way that truly matters especially when it pertains to the romance genre. Its a story that while at first, I was hesistant on if I was going to enjoy it or not but discovered as the story progressed how much beauty was in this romance. It has a different pace to it then the first book had. And its part of the KU subscription and I truly think its one of those jewels. I am always impressed with seeing such a wonderful read in the subscription. I have really admired how this author wrote this story and the unique pairing she brings to this story.

Ahhh the classic tale of a solid romance ruined by an idiot of a heroine.
Seriously, this book would have been 5 stars if Juliet wasn't such a buzz-kill. She was sabotaging her own story at every turn, and I was just gobsmacked that the author made her this dense. I thought I was getting this badass chick and instead I get one of the more annoying heroine leads I've read this year. She was just whiney for the entire book and condescending. I got sick of her constantly being a bitch and couldn't really see why Killian liked her so much.
And while I normally love the female side characters in books the female friends in this were AWFUL... They are her friends but they are pretty shitty to her and their banter just bored me.
Killian, on the other hand, was the epitome of an alpha male... dark, dangerous and highly intelligent. He could be both deadly and romantic, and that made me love him a lot.
I wanted more plot development. 70% of the book was just Killian trying to convince Juliet to be with him and her pushing him away because she has trust issues.
So overall, give Killian a better love interest and you would have a great book.

If you read the Beautifully Cruel Duet back to back you’ll notice a lot of similarities. Now granted they are twins but sometimes it felt like I’m reading the exact same scene (especially the spicy ones). Also I get it, they’re super hot but if my friends kept mentioning that their panties are on fire or they’re gonna rub one out to my boyfriend, I’d be a little annoyed.
I did enjoy the book though, especially ‘cause it made me laugh out loud several times and I love that about the author.

4.5 Stars
And only because Juliet drove me nutz numerous times throughout the story.
I LOVED Killian.
Loved almost everything about this book.
I do wish I had realized that many characters from this series and the other series of hers I'm reading had cross-over from some of her other series! It's like I'm reading backwards.
While that didn't keep me from loving this series, I think if I had read them in order I would have enjoyed them even more.
But! It definitely answered Some questions I've had about the Queens & Monsters Series. And the 4th book in that one just came out for pre-order today.
I think I want to find the beginning of these characters and start reading from there. I'm pretty sure I already own most of them.
And yes, I'm about to go spend money so I have the 4th book in her Queens & Monsters Series since I've already read the first three!
Actually, I think no matter what order you read these you will very much enjoy them.
I know I have so far.

Amazing!
I can’t decide if I like this book better or the first one. I adore Killian. I loved how he knew he wanted Juliet and stopped at nothing to get her. His love for her was epic. Juliet annoyed me at times. I tried to be understanding of her issues, but it got kind of old after a while. Overall though, this book was amazing! I laughed, I cried, I devoured the whole thing in one day, and now that it’s over, I’m sad. I love this series. I hope Diego and Declan both get their own books and I hope Max ends up with one of them.

Idk what is, but the Irish accent gets me EVERYTIME! That and the “I’d do anything for the woman I love … I’ll burn the world down” type of man. That is all … ENJOY!
