Solid and fine read.

With gentleman criminal hero that will fulfill your fantasies of being persued by an alpha hero.

The protagounist was strong and had a very funny group of friends.

There is a 15 years age gap (she is 25 and he is 40) but it's really inconsequential.

> All of the above could be used to describe any of the mafia romaces written bu his author. Bit there is always enough change to keep it interesting while keeping some favourite tropes and dynamics.

The three moments that I liked most were:
  1. The opening scene was written is such a fun way!
  2. How she kept refusing him for reasonable reasons
  3. The angst and sexiness of the weekend trip.
Moreover the banter between the friends and her boss scene were funny.

This author writes females centred mafia romance books where you see almost nothing about the criminl parts and only see the romance interactions. The hero is very alpha but extremely respectful. The book is sexy and explocit. And near the end there is always an action scene.

Now my gripes:
  1. Juliet is NOT an italian name. It's Giulietta. Juliet is the english version. So when I read, as an italian, that the name was clearly italian it left me baffled and confused.
  2. And the Shakespeare's quotes were a bit cheesy

Talk about from high to low. I wanted to read book two of this duology, the other brother, but I didn't want the same story.

That's it.
That's the review.

It was very hard to like this book because of the heroine. I felt like she was seriously selfish and judgmental towards the hero. I think he could have better. Other than that, it was interesting.

Killian!!!!!!

Killian, oh how I loved him in the previous book. And loved him even more in this one. He saved this book for me. His banter and his alpha badass ways. He was a great character.

I just couldn’t get into Jules. She had her funny and kinda badass moments, but for me, it just didn’t click. If anything, I loved her friend Max more. I get why she had the issues she had. It just stretched to long into the story. It’s a great series overall.

Killian Black....yaaaasss!!!! I am definitely loving him and his brother Liam. This story was great.
First you have this badass chick Juliet who's not even trying to give Killian her time and wants absolutely nothing to deal with him.
Then Killian who is hiding secrets and is a badass dude who is completely obsessed with Juliet. Put these two together and you get a lot of arguing, sass, attitude, and attraction. Definitely a good read.
