honestly, i can't think of anything new to say in this review that i haven't said in my other reviews for this series so i'm just going to try and sum up my feelings in three sentences.

1. these people are my family.
2. give them a break.
3. i'm so not normal about them.

i hope that got my point across!!

3.75 ⭐
Connor was insufferable in the beginning but it surprisingly got better. I guess I'd choose anyone as a narrator over Lily so overall it's a win

A quote for my personal collection:
"I'm always whomever or whatever people need me to be," I say strongly, "but you were the only one who needed me to be me."

5 stars. I don't ever go below the maximum with these books.

"You're a real psychopath, Cobalt."
"No, I just fucking hate you."

I recall wondering about it myself. 2 weeks ago when I was reading "Addicted to You" and I have just met Connor, I wondered: 'wait, is he a sociopath?'. His repetetive declarations on how he doesn't feel emotions such as love because they're illogical and therefore he doesn't profit from them in any way so why acknowledge their existence in the first place... right?
Yeah.

In the end it all proved to be a well-built defense mechanism; skills he had been honing since very young age so he'd escape disappointment. Because Connor does feel love for his closest friends and his family. He's no fool about his emotions. He's mastered the art of manipulation. But he doesn't manipulate those whom he cares about and even if he can, he chooses not to. I'll take that victory.

I'm extremely proud of how far the characters of this book have come since I first met them. Since this installment centers on Connor and Rose, I have to say I'm just extremely proud of them as an item. Invidually they've grown, together they've grown, too. They trust each other and have this utter, mind-blowing brand of respect for one another which - given how intelligent and educated they are - is like an entity on its own.

I loved the back-and-forth game they had going on. The intellectual sparring had me grinning. Their exploits in bed and outside of it. All quite more or less jaw-dropping. I also have to admit: Connor stripping at a bar in front of crowds of people never breaking eye contact with Rose? SO. FUCKING. HOT.
He's such a force, this fucking lion of a man. Holy shit. I am SO smitten.

The way he played Scott. With Rose's mental help. It was glorious. I was doing virtual victorious laps round a football field with Rose and the girls. It required such immense strength of character. I was in awe of his manipulation tactics and sheer force of will. Just wow. If I were in his shoes, I would have ripped Scott another ass hole - to use Jonathan Hale's crude language (how appropriate right now though, don't even start me on this).

I am so happy for Rose and Connor's journey. There were lows on their paths. They battled those breaking many a sweat and that's how I know they were always genuine. After all, all of which is diffcult, is worth the fight. The ups are always worth it. Just as they always are with these Calloway/Cobalt/Hale/Meadows couples.

Thank you, Krista & Becca Ritchie! You ROCK!

4.75 ⭐️ theres a coballoway shaped hole in my heart and i love them so much.

The relationships in this series have my heart

4.5 stars. loved this one sooo much!!! i love connor and rose and while i’m a little sad that their journey has mostly concluded (ik they will still appear in the last two books) i’m so grateful that i got to see them develop both individually but also as a couple.
