Incredibly repetitive. As a side note: The argument "to quit something before even starting it, only because you know you will only be average" has some sense to it but only if your goal in life is to be the absolute best at everything - which is virtually impossible. His example of choice was snowboarding. Apparently doing something for fun, doing something just to try it or quitting it when you plateau is a sheer waste of time. Not everything needs to be done to perfection in life.

This is for anyone who are in a dead-end position and ready for growth in their business, job, or relationship.
The first half is a good book.
The second half is the first half overexplained.
The core idea of the dip is really interesting though.

The message be muddled.
A book not for the weak of heart. Quit. Quit, and do it now.
The book claims if you're not going to be the best in the world at your particular chosen endeavor - quit.
Brutal advice, that needs to be taken with a bucket of salt, but not completely ignored.
As someone more profound than I once pontificated "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results"
There's much clutter in our lives and a cull of pointless endeavors could be the medicine required.
Go forth and quit. But quit wisely.

This book is a short read about the art of quitting, i.e. how and when to quit. It is very inspiring. The author tries to challenge the reader almost all the time to think, to reflect, to review the reader's experiences and life. I love this book. It challenges me to rethink about how I approach my life and gives me some ideas to rearrange and reflect on myself. I think I finally got a breakthrough to one of my life's problem about my career. High recommended.

The dip is an interesting theory about success, quitting and failure. Some aspects could have been outlined a bit clearer and I a more critical manner. The book follows very much the "black and white" narrative of western societies insisting that if one is not #1 then that person has little value. However, there are messages that are interesting and tools one can use to manoeuvre career, business and/ or life strategies.
