Action packed but it was a too much of a Michael Crichtony ending for me. But considering this was Reilly's first book and he draws inspiration from Crichton, I could forgive him for the ending, damn. But, well, what a ride. I read any book which is based on a library but I was shocked to find that though the story happens in one, it involves anything but books. But you should start considering it a success to see I'm not disappointed. But Holly's character transformator is author trying to pull over our eyes definitely. Not buying it. Not buying the dwarf E.T act either. And how does Humans always win no matter how much evolved species they battle? Oops, did I spoil anything? But come on, guys, obviously none of our authors try letting the superior species win in any case. You would've guessed anyway. But I just wish, for once, an author writes a story showing the reign of another species and Reilly has the best potential to make it happen. Nevertheless, with the exception of flawfully designed supposedly 'evolved' species, this was quite a ride. After the Great Zoo of China, this is the book that could give that thrill. Good old days of The Hunger Games seems so long gone now. Thinking about it, maybe I loved this story because it strongly made me reminisce about the Hunger Games. Whatever, this came first!

Entertaining, intense and a completely far-fetched read but it lacked that little something extra to turn from an average/good book to a great book. The main hero was a bit too unbelievable and the 8 year old daughter really wasn't needed.

I wanted to reread Reilly’s first book after watching his first movie, and it was good fun. Some cheese in this, but that’s to be expected for him. Good fun!
