It's not as tight as "The Troop" but I guess the subject matter--Evil with a capital E--doesn't lend itself to neatness or tightness. The love story between Micah and Ellen is solid in a stoic way. Also just...so much body horror.

This book had some really good moments and then it also had some moments where I wanted to grab Nick Cutter by the shoulders and shake him vigorously while saying STOP TRYING TO BE STEPHEN KING. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I loved this book. It was classic horror. Some parts where a little drawn out and some part made me downright nauseous. Highly recommend.
