This was a cute somewhat basic rom com with some intense themes. There’s a heavy emphasis on domestic abuse- physical and emotional. The author has a section in the back that explains why. Alexis is a doctor that winds up falling for a man who lives 2 hours away in an extremely small town. I will say that the ending kind of came abruptly after the beginning to middle sections of the book slowly built.

This book hooked me from the start!! I loved how fast paced it was and that the viewpoint of the characters kept switching back and forth. I was going to give it 3.75 stars, because it was enjoyable but not the best book I’ve ever read and I did think it was a touch long.  However, I had to add the extra points because the way the author layered the different types of domestic abuse and put us in the heads of domestic abuse victims was really well done.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA é tudo o que eu tenho a dizer sinceramente depois do que eu li.... como assim????? se eu chorei? bastante, mas também existia outra opção?

o livro foi tão bem escrito e todos os personagens faziam sentido.... o meu ptsd até atacou com o quão real parecia e isso é dizer muito depois de anos de terapia. a evolução, o plot twist, o amor entre eles e aquela cidade... wow!

daniel, bates forte cá dentro! ali, põe-te a pau antes que eu te roube o homem ( até parece, duvido muito que ele alguma vez sequer tivesse olhos para mim). a este ponto, posso ficar com o doug ou a bri, apesar de todos sabermos que vão acabar juntos... enfim, quero viver no livro por favor.

This was my first book by Abby Jimenez and I get what the hype is about! It was cute, funny, emotional, and with likable main characters, it had all the qualities of a perfect romcom!
