my first Abby Jimenez! I loved this book, it was sweet and tender and made you feel so good! The third act breakup made you feel like you were going through your own break, and the whole last chapter and epilogue had me in tears! Can't wait to dive into the next one!

“Grace costs you nothing”

You learn something from each book you read and in this book, it's that Grace costs you nothing. To be honest, I thought I would hate the ending because I thought it's gonna be a nothing special kind of ending, but apparently, it's not. It's really eye-opener if you dig deep into it and in my case, I have to really dig deep cuz I'm kinda dumb.

I love the story and saw no flaws in it aside from it being kind of simple. It is relatable to people who had been in an emotional and physical abusive relationship. If I had read this before when I was in one, I would have had my eyes opened sooner rather than later. It's a nice way to show the side of the victims because not everyone can understand how hard it is to get out of one OR actually think you're being dramatic. Romace-wise, I love Daniel and Alexis together, considering they have a ten year age gap. But afterwards, it wasn't about that anymore because they've learn to not care about anything else when they're together. I can see Alexis' side on why she can't be in that relationship and also see how Daniel tries so hard for them to be a couple. This book is the only exception so far where breaking up and getting back together is something that needs to happen. Typically, miscommunication is the cause for book break up but for this one, it wasn't. It was well communicated that at some point, they have to stop and take a step back. It was a way for Alexis to see how she needed to prioritize Daniel because she needs him there. Why do something that makes people around you happy while it makes you depressed? What's the point in that, right? Alexis just needs a good shove (and in her case, Bri's guidance) to open her eyes to more possibilities. That's why this is the only exception. The break up wasn't useless at all.

Plus points because this is a small town setting - which I'm too addicted with at the moment. Plus plus plus point because it's the guy fall in love first and we get to see it happen because it's dual POV! I love Daniel so much because he really know what he wants and not afraid to say it.

P.S. I love Bri! I hope she have the best ending in the next book!

I liked this romance book way more than I thought I would. It made me laugh it made me cry. The ending was slightly predictable but it had a good twist that I didn’t necessarily see coming. I would read another book from this author.
