Great read!
A little slow at the beginning and I found Orka's story a little boring at first, but once the plot kick off it's an incredible read.
Varg is by far my favourite!

I need the sequels this aint an ending.

This book fucking rules!!! Honestly the best thing I’ve read this year. The writing is so vivid and I love the characters. Finished it and immediately picked up the sequel.

First half of the book reads like a literary version of being stuck in a "my morning routine" YouTube playlist - in that it seems just like a recounting of some sort of a daily step activity for characters I care nothing about. Half way into it, one character gets a mission, while the other two continue to tell us what happens to them next without much of a point. Finally, remaining two get their own mission but it's not like a their mission, they are just swept along for a meaningless ride.

What also happens half way into the book is that we get fascinated with the concept of "thought-cage" (it's a stand-in for "head") and then suddenly we see "thought-cage" on every page. Yes, there are other words on every page, and I am sure many that repeat each page, but somehow, once "thought-cage" gets introduced, it becomes annoyingly overused.

Then there is a retelling of an old fairy tale of fooling a giant but with some minor modifications. I don't know if I should be annoyed at this .. cultural appropriation? .. but somehow, I am.

I don't know if I'm invested enough to keep going here..
