I have been loving the last two books by Sajni Patel. The ladies in this book are full of empowerment and so supportive of one another.
At times I got frustrated with Daniel and Preeti, because their communication wasn't the best. I found myself thinking "well, if you would just talk to one another, you'd figure this out". Obviously there wouldn't be a book without these minor issues so I suppose I can't complain.
Totally worth the read/listen to. I've never had a look into Indian culture like I have with these novels. It's fascinating and similar to others but unique in historical and lifestyle. The author does an incredible job explaining hardships, expectations in family dynamics and religious institutions covering up scandals, etc.
I really hope there's a book #3!

Unlikable characters. I loved how both unapologetically loved their family and culture but the main character seemed really whinny.
I don’t know why, but I could very much relate to these characters and their suffering. I loved how they communicated. With Preeti’s anxiety it wasn’t easy for her to talk about certain things, and Daniel always respected her. Even if he wanted to know badly what was going on.
The ending scene was literally the cutest and most wholesome ending ever and I for once didn’t hate the ending (they’re usually very cheesy).
I’d give it 5 stars!!

Girl was so annoying. Like stand up for yourself. I could not get past how annoying she was and how she could not tell her ex the truth of why they broke up. Honestly I don't like forced proximity when it is forced...does that make sense...Daniel could have easily found another place to live like bffr. Preeti really needs to learn to stand up for herself...if she did not like her fiancee then say something, if you want to be with Daniel then say something...like why are you so annoying.
i really want to love this book as much as i love the first book but i can't! this book made me irritated af. i really can't stand miscommunication trope

Absolutely loved this book! I appreciated the honest conversation about racism and classism and the conflict of living your life for yourself and pleasing your parents. The story flowed well but the main characters picking up where they left off after 6 years initially seemed unrealistic but the more I read the more I understood their personalities and bond. Looking forward to reading more form you! I also read The Trouble With Hating You and enjoyed it!
