Six years after breaking up and not seeing each other, Daniel and Preeti find themselves in a unique situation...as roommates for a few weeks. This couple stole my heart. I loved them individually but even more together. I could feel the need they had for each other even after all those years apart. The banter, tension, flirty touches and longing looks had me still thinking about them days after finishing this book.
Daniel provided Preeti with a sense of calm and peace that she couldn't get from anyone else. He supported her through the good and the bad. Some of the most intimate scenes were when they just held onto each other.
This book touched on so many important topics including racism, touch aversion, family pressure, anxiety and depression. Unfortunately some of those obstacles they faced all those years ago were still there. Buy they got through them together and came out stronger in the end. The author did a fantastic job of balancing these heavier topics with the lighter rom-com scenes.
I highly recommend this second chance romance. You need Daniel and Preeti in your life.

This book just annoyed me. Which I’m saddened by because I was expecting such great things but it has one of my most annoying book tropes - miscommunication/not communicating at all and Preeti being so conflict avoidant annoyed me to the core. I just couldn’t put myself through finishing this book. Read the end though & was even more annoyed that she waits till the very last freaking chapter to tell me what she should have told him 6 years ago. So yeah, no, I’m good.

I liked the first book in this series so I thought I would give this one a shot. Now, I didn’t enjoy this one nearly as much but it was cute. I did feel like it was expected. Obviously, it’s a romance but I would like to know about the family. What makes this book stand out was the relationship between a South Asian woman and a black man. THAT’S A BIG DEAL. While it was focused on, the author could have dived so much more into it and made that the root of their issues. Not this will they, won’t they? Because they will. You know they will. It felt too clean is what I’m trying to say like it was shying away from the actual issue at hand.
Enjoyed it! Didn’t love it as much as The Trouble with Hating You, but a solid second book and I’ll definitely read more from this author.
