Beautiful to look at, interesting concept, meh to read. It’s only 120 pages and took me a month to get through.

Text + photographs + captions + narrative structure of choose your next topic = a unique experience for each reader. For fans of metafiction.

This is a hard book to explain.

It's almost as if you're getting a window into, what appears to be, two perfectly normal family homes. As if you're the neighbour who lives across the street and only see things in snippets. You become invested, obsessed over their lives. Almost to a stalkerish point. You can't help but want to know more, want to figure out how each piece fits into place. You keep reading and reading until you reach the final page and you think, that's it? But then you go back to the first page and everything begins to make more sense than you first thought. You start picking different pages where you know the story will be somewhat linear. You follow a singular character and watch them weave through another. You start cross-checking the other entries, hoping to find something more; something missed the first time round.

When I began reading it, I didn't know what to expect. I don't think I've finished reading it, not sure if that's even possible. There's still so much to unpack, to find. Still so many questions, with answers hidden throughout.

A short read that was entertaining. It read a bit like a rumor mill with no real conclusion, which was interesting, with a unique style.
*I received this book as a part of Goodreads Giveaways.*
