I read this one for a challenge. I started it, then ended up reading something else and went back to it. It was a pleasant read. Went quickly once I dug in and really read. Lots of clues to what was coming so, it was easy to predict was was coming.

Lighthearted and fun. With an unrepentant happy ending. Delightful.

Amazing group of characters and experiences

We've all met these characters or someone very near. They are written so well, their reactions to the happenings on the tour make perfect sense. Wonderfully written journey.

Story was fun and the characters were engaging once I got to know them enough to remember who was who. It’s very fast paced and not exactly believable. However, I had a few issues with the writing.

1. If you’re going to write about American tourists, learn how they speak. I can pretty much guarantee you that no two Americans would use trolly (shopping cart) and pram (baby stroller) in a conversation with each other.

2. The story takes place on a one week tour of Ireland. The first day of the tour was for relaxing and getting over jet lag. Another day they had the afternoon off. Then they had a whole day off. Then they had the morning off. And so on. If I paid for a guided tour where I was on my own the majority of the time, I’d feel cheated.

3. While I really like the word “eggit,” it was definitely overused. So was “em.” Maybe that’s supposed to make it more like real conversation, but it made for a less than stellar reading experience.
